​Mahakavi Subramania Bharati

On 11th December 2024, the Prime Minister released a compendium of complete works of great Tamil poet and freedom fighter C. Subramania Bharati in New Delhi.

  • The Prime Minister lauded the extraordinary, unprecedented and tireless work of six decades for the compilation of ‘Kaala Varisaiyil Bharathiyar Padaippugal’ in 21 volumes.

About Mahakavi

  • C. Subramaniya Bharati was a poet, freedom fighter and social reformer from Tamil Nadu.
  • He was known as 'Mahakavi Bharathiyar' and the laudatory epithet 'Mahakavi' means a great poet.
