Krishi Sakhi: Empowering Rural Women
On 18th June 2024, Prime Minister granted certificates to more than 30,000 self-help groups as Krishi Sakhis in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) to empower the country's rural women.
- The certificates were granted under the Krishi Sakhi Convergence Program (KSCP).
Who are Krishi Sakhis?
- Krishi Sakhis are experienced farmers who are selected as agriculture para-extension workers due to their trustworthiness.
- They have been trained in 56 days on various extension services, including ecological practices, seed banks, soil health, livestock management, bio inputs, communication skills, and more.
- In addition to this, Krishi Sakhis have been trained on natural farming and soil health cards through DAY-NRLM agencies ....
