  • Philosophical and Constitutional Underpinnings: The Preamble of the Indian Constitution aims to promote "Justice, social, economic, and political" and "Equality of status and of opportunity." Different articles of the Fundamental Rights treat different rights, such as the right to equality, the right to a dignified life, the right to education, the right against untouchability, the right against exploitation, etc. Plus, the Directive Principles of State Policy mandate that the wellbeing of all citizens is the state's first priority, effectively transforming it into a Welfare State.
