Administrative Reforms
- Raise the Salaries of Civil Servants: The company's employees were dishonest, inept, and careless people. Cornwallis understood that the company's servants' low wages pushed them to engage in a variety of private trades to increase their income. Cornwallis made the decision to increase the pay for the company's servants as a result.
- No Private Trade: It was against the law for corporate personnel to engage in private trade.
- Europeans in High Positions: He had little faith in the moral fibre, intellectual prowess, and honesty of the Indian populace. He therefore aimed to save all higher positions for Europeans.
