Sarojini Naidu
- February 13th commemorate the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu
- Known as the ‘Nightingale of India’ or ‘Bharat Kokila’
- Joined independence movement after the 1905 partition of Bengal.
- Inspired by – Gopal Krishna Gokhale.
- Co-founded Women’s Indian Association in 1917.
- Joined All India Home Rule League in 1919.
- Became the 1st Indian woman president of Indian National Congress in 1925.
- Participated in Civil Disobedience and Quit India Movements.
- Accompanied Gandhi to London during the Second Round Table Conference in 1931.
- 1st woman to serve as the Governor of the United Provinces in independent India (1947).
