Ongole Breed
- In February 2025, a cow of the Ongole breed (named viatina-19), has set a record in Brazil by fetching 41 crores at an auction.
- Also known as the Nellore breed, the breed native to the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.
- The breed is known for hardiness, disease resistance, and capacity to thrive on scanty resources.
- They are one of the most unique triple-purpose cattle of the tropics, serving well as draught, milk, and meat animals.
