Adrash Smarak Scheme

On 20th July, 2021, three monuments of Andhra Pradesh namely - Monuments at Nagarjunakonda (Guntur District), Budhhist Remains at Salihundam (Srikakulam District), and Veerabhadra Temple at Lepakshi (Anantapuram District) have been identified as Adarsh Smarak for providing additional facilities.

About Adrash Smarak Scheme

  • It was launched in December 2014 for providing improved visitor amenities, especially for the physically challenged.
  • A total of 100 monuments protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) are being developed and maintained as Adarsh Monuments under the scheme.

Objectives

  • To make the monument visitor friendly.
  • To upgrade/provide washrooms, drinking water, signages, cafeteria, and wi-fi facility.
