New Education Policy 2020
On 29th July, the Union Cabinetapproved the new National Education Policy (NEP) and renamed the Human Resource Development Ministry as Education Ministry.
- The committee headed by former ISRO chief K Kasturirangansuggested changes in the education system under the NEP 2020.
- The first NEP was drafted in 1986based on the recommendations the Education Commission headed by then UGC Chairperson D S Kothariand updated in 1992.
