On 11th September, 2021, the Prime Minister paid rich tributes to Acharya Vinoba Bhave on his Jayanti.
About Acharya Vinoba Bhave
- He was born as Vinayak Narahari Bhave in Gagode, Bombay Presidency, on September 11, 1895.
- From a political and spiritual standpoint, he was drawn to Mahatma Gandhi's beliefs and ideologies, and he regarded Gandhi to be his teacher.
- He met Gandhi on June 7, 1916 and took resident at the Kochrab Ashram in Ahmedabad.
- The name Vinoba (a traditional Marathi epithet signifying great respect) was conferred upon him by Mama Phadke.
