A New Push for Namami Gange Programme
- With the term of completion approaching for the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) or Namami Gange, government has initiated a slew of interventions under it.
- It ranges from organic farming to creation of river fronts, Ghats and sewerage treatment plants (STPs).
Four-Dimensional Push Under NMCG
Under Namami Gange, projects worth 30 thousand crores are going on or have been completed and are mainly executed in four directions.
- Sewerage Treatment Plants: Government has started laying a trap of sewage treatment plants (STPs) to prevent the dirty water falling into the Ganges.
