Changes in E-way Bill System to Check GST Evasion
- On 26th April, 2019, the Finance Ministry introduced changes in the e-way bill system to crack down on GST evaders.
Key Changes
- Distance Calculation Based on PIN Codes: The new system would come with auto-calculation of the distance between the source and destination, based on the PIN codes. The user would be allowed to enter the actual distance as per the movement of goods, which will be limited to 10 per cent more than the auto-calculated distance displayed.
- Bar on Interstate Transactions: The proposed system will also bar generation of e-way bill for interstate movement by composition taxpayer. This is being ....
