National Technology Day
Technology Development Board (TDB)- a statutory body of the Department of Science & Technology (DST)- celebrated National Technology Dayon 11th May. Since 1999, the day is being celebrated as National Technology Day.
- It is celebrated to commemorate various innovations and technological excellence achieved by the country.
- 11th May, 1998 happens to be an important day as it is on this day that India successfully carried out the nuclear tests in Pokharan, Rajasthan, declaring herself as a nuclear weapons power.
