HRD Ministry to Set up Dedicated Research and Innovation Division
- In order to boost research in academic institutions across the country, the Human Resources Development Ministry is creating a dedicated 'Research and Innovation Division’.
- The division will be headed by a director who will be coordinating research work of various institutions coming under the HRD Ministry.
- The HRD ministry also issued the new guidelines for PM's Research Fellowship (PMRF) Scheme to expand the ambit of scheme by reducing the GATE score requirement and adding lateral entry option. The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) among the top 25 institutions as per NIRF ranking will also be eligible to grant the fellowship.
