NABARD announces Venture Capital Fund
- On 14th May, 2019, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) announced a venture capital-Nabventures Fund I, for equity supportinagriculture and rural-focused startups.
- This is the first time that the rural development bank has launched a fund of its own.
- The fund has been launched by Nabventures, a subsidiary of NABARD.
Significance of Venture
- Surplus Capital Option: It has a proposed corpus of Rs 500 crore with an option to retain over-subscriptions of Rs200 crore, called as the greenshoe option.
- Big boost to Investment Ecosystem: The fund is expected to provide a big boost to investment ecosystem in the core areas ....
