Lok Sabha Election 2019 results

The 2019 general election was held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The elections were held on schedule and per the Constitution of India that mandates parliamentary elections once every five years.

Key Highlights

  • About 900 million people were eligible to vote and turnout was over 67 per cent – the highest ever as well as the highest participation by women voters.
  • Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 303 seats and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 353 seats.
