Abdur Rahim Khan-i-Khanan
Abdur Rahim Khan I Khanan’s tomb, located in Nizammuddin, Delhi was recently thrown open for public after receiving a new lease of life by conservation work, by a multi-disciplinary team of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), in partnership with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and support of a corporate conglomerate.
Rahim’s Tomb
- The monumental mausoleum was built by Rahim in 1598 for his wife, Mah Banu, making it the first Mughal tomb of its kind built for a lady. Upon his death, Rahim was also buried in the same mausoleum in 1627.
