Group of Ministers Set Up To Review Crop Insurance Scheme
On 27th December, 2019, the government set up a 7-member group of ministers (GoM) headed by defence minister to review the crop insurance scheme, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojanaand to recommend changes to make it more farmer friendly. The GoM includes home minister, agriculture minister, and ministers of state for agriculture, finance, tribal affairs and animal husbandry.
Reasons to Review the Scheme
