UDAN Day
The fourth anniversary of the UDAN scheme was commemorated as UDAN Day on 21 October, 2020 by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
About UDAN Scheme
- It was launched as a regional connectivity scheme (RCS) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation in 2016.
- The scheme envisages providing connectivity to un-served and under-served airports of the country through revival of existing air-strips and airports.
- UDAN has a unique market-based model to develop regional connectivity.
- The scheme is implemented by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and is operational for a period of 10 years.
