US President wants India to Join G7

  • US President has announced the postponement of the G-7 Summit which was expected to be held in mid-June. He labelled the informal organisation as very outdated group of countries and called for its expansion to include Russia, South Korea, Australia andIndia.
  • Last year, the G-7 summit was held in France, where Indian Prime Minister was invited to attend as a special guest of French President.
