One Nation One Ration Card
- On 29th June, 2019, government came out with One nation-One Ration card scheme to be implemented throughout India by 30th June, 2020.
- This is one of the 100-days agenda of the new government.
Benefits
- Portability of Food Security Benefits: It will allow portability of food security benefits, which will be available across the country from July 1, 2020. This means poor migrant workers will be able to buy subsidised rice and wheat from any ration shop in the country.
- Enhance Public Distribution System (PDS): The new mechanism will ensure no poor is deprived of PDS entitlement if that person shifts from one ....
