Mega Investment Textiles Parks (MITRA) Scheme
- In the Union Budget 2021-22, the Government has proposed a scheme of Mega Investment Textiles Parks (MITRA) Scheme.
- It seeks to enable the textile industry to become globally competitive and boost exports.
Need
- India has already sanctioned 59 textile parks under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP), but due to delays in obtaining land from state governments, slow progress, and tardy fund mobilisation, it has announced to develop MITRA parks to overcome these shortcomings.
