India marks the beginning of “Super Year of BioDiversity” with CMS COP
On 16th February India hosted the 13th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS COP13), a major United Nations wildlife conference, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The theme of the conference was “Migratory species connect the planet and together we welcome them home”.
Highlights of the Conference
- The Conference kicked off “Super Year for Environment”, which will include a UN Summit in September and culminate in the UN Biodiversity Conference at the end of 2020, when a new global biodiversity strategy for the next decade will be adopted - the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.
