- Methane Emissions from Crops: Nearly 50% of all crop-related GHG emissions are accounted for by ethane emissions from global rice farming.
- Emissions from Inorganic Fertiliser Use: Nearly 30% of N2O emissions from the agricultural sector are attributable to the use of inorganic fertilisers. In addition, a significant amount of GHGs, such as CO2, CH4, and N2O, are released during the production and delivery of inorganic fertiliser.
