The stand taken by the quadrilateral (US, China, Russia and Pakistan) on the principles governing Afghan Peace Process differ from those held by India. Being an important stakeholder in the region how do you think India should navigate its course of action?

Answer: Recently, representatives of China, Russia, and the US held their 3rd consultation on the Afghan peace process in China following which they also requested Pakistan to join for a surprise quadrilateral meeting. The three countries believe that Pakistan can play an important role in facilitating peace process in Afghanistan. However, India was excluded from the peace deliberations.
