SDG India Index 2023-24

NITI Aayog released the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index in July 2024, showing India's national score improving from 66 (2020-21) to 71 (2023-24).

Key Findings

  • Significant progress in Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land).
  • Largest increase in Climate Action (54 to 67) and No Poverty (60 to 72).
  • Lowest scoring SDG: Goal 5 (Gender Equality).
