National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM)
In February 2025, the Union Cabinet approved the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) to secure India's critical mineral supply chain, aligning with a key 2024-25 Budget initiative.
Aim of the Mission: The mission aims to strengthen domestic capabilities, reduce import dependence, and ensure a resilient supply chain for industries such as renewable energy, electric vehicles (EVs), defense, and semiconductors.

- Covers exploration, mining, processing, recycling, and recovery from end-of-life products.
- Ensures supply security through both domestic extraction and global acquisitions.
