Biopharmaceutical Alliance

In June 2024, South Korea, India, the United States, and Japan launched the Biopharmaceutical Alliance to tackle global drug supply shortages, particularly those experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

• This strategic initiative aims to strengthen international collaboration in the biopharmaceutical sector.
• The inaugural meeting of the alliance was held in San Diego, USA, during the Bio International Convention 2024, the world’s largest pharmaceutical exhibition.
• The alliance focuses on enhancing vaccination diplomacy and ensuring a stable and secure global supply of biopharmaceutical products.
• It seeks to align bio policies, regulatory frameworks, and research and development (R&D) efforts across participating nations.
