46th World Heritage Committee Meeting
India hosted the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) Meeting for the first time at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from July 21-31, 2024.
- The session was inaugurated by PM Modi on July 21, 2024, alongside UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay.
- 24 new World Heritage sites were inscribed, including 19 cultural, 4 natural, and 1 mixed property.
- Moidams from Assam became India’s 43rd World Heritage Site on July 26, 2024, marking the first cultural site from Assam to receive this recognition.
