A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was recently filed in the Supreme Court, demanding gender and religion-neutral universal grounds of succession and inheritance for inhabitants of the country.

Constitutional Aspect of Uniform Civil Code

  • Article 44 of the Constitution lays down that the ‘State shall endeavour to secure a Uniform Civil Code for the citizens throughout the territory of India.’
