Child Population in India: In India, an estimated 26 million of children are born every year.
- As per Census 2011, the share of children (0-6 years) accounts 13% of the total population in the Country.

Schemes & Programs
Child Protection Services (CPS): Child Protection Services Scheme under the Mission Vatsalya scheme (erstwhile Integrated Child Protection Scheme) is being implemented since 2009-10 for supporting the children in difficult circumstances.
