Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) released National Marine Turtle Action Plan recently.
About Marine Turtle Action Plan 2021-26
- It aims to conserve marine turtles and their habitats for maintaining a healthy marine ecosystem.
Major Targets under the Mission Includes –
- Reduce negative effects on the survival of sea turtles by conserving species, their habitat, and reducing negative impacts on their survival.
- Using a coordinated method, improve our understanding of marine turtles and their ecosystems.
- Promote conservation of marine turtles and their habitats through public awareness and education.
- Promote sustainable ecotourism to improve the livelihoods of coastal people.
