Geothermal Energy
An agreement for establishing India’s first-ever geothermal field development project in Leh was signed recently.
About the Project
- In eastern Ladakh's Puga hamlet, a power plant called as the Geothermal Field Development Project will be developed.
- Puga has been designated as the country's geothermal energy hotspot (potential of more than 100 mw of geothermal energies.)
- It will be developed by ONGC Energy, the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, and the UT Ladakh Power Department.
