National River Linking Project (NRLP)
On the occasion of World Water Day (March 22nd, 2021), the Union Minister of Jal Shakti and the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the Ken-Betwa Link Project (KBLP).
The KBLP is the first of the National River Linking Project's projects (NRLP). Water from the Ken River will be diverted to the Betwa River as part of this project. Both rivers are tributaries of the Yamuna River.

- It envisions water being transferred from water "surplus" basins where flooding occurs to water "deficit" basins where drought/scarcity occurs, ....
