India’s Third Biennial Report to UNFCCC

India gave a presentation on its third Biennial Update Report (BUR) to the UNFCCC at the 11th Facilitative Sharing of Views (FSV) at the COP26 on 6th November 2021. Climate change has made India particularly vulnerable.

India, on the other hand, is pursuing a number of mitigation measures that cover the entire economy and society, and has been gradually decoupling its economic growth from greenhouse gas emissions.

  • India has a population of 17 percent of the world's population, but its historical cumulative emissions are just 4%, and current yearly GHG emissions are only about 5%.
