Asia Environmental Enforcement Award
The United Nations Environment Programme awarded the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) the Asia Environmental Enforcement Award-2020 (UNEP) on 17th February 2021.
For "Operation WILDNET-II," WCCB received an award in the category of "Innovation." WCCB conducted this operation to draw enforcement agencies' attention to illegal wildlife trading on the internet via social media platforms like as Facebook, Twitter, and Whatsapp. WCCB has previously won the prize in the same category in 2018.
About Asia Environmental Enforcement Award
- The prize honours excellence in combating transboundary environmental crime, such as illegal wildlife trading and illegal chemical and waste trade, particularly plastic.
