- Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs): 18
- Light Water Reactors (LWRs): 4
- Reactors Shutdown: 1 reactor, 135 MWe
- Import/Export Balance: 0.1 TWh net export (9.5 TWh imports; 9.6 TWh exports)
- Total Consumption: 1,207 TWh
- Per Capita Consumption: ~900 kWh

Presently, India has 22 operating reactors in the following six states:
- Maharashtra: Tarapur
- Rajasthan: Rawatbhata
- Uttar Pradesh: Narora
- Gujarat: Kakrapar
- Karnataka: Kaiga
- Tamil Nadu: Kalpakkam and Kudankulam
Fuel Requirements
- 700 MW PHWR: 125 tons of UO2 annually (at 85% capacity factor)
- 1000 MW LWR: 25 tons of low enriched uranium annually ....
