  • On July 25, India's fully robotic GROWTH-India telescope located at the Indian Astronomical Observatory in Hanle, Ladakh, captured images of the asteroid '2011 MW1' as it made a close approach to Earth.
  • The asteroid, classified as a Near Earth Asteroid, passed by Earth at a speed of 28,946 kilometers per hour.
  • '2011 MW1' came as close as ten times the distance between Earth and the Moon.
  • Despite being an Apollo-class asteroid, which means its orbit intersects with Earth's, it is not considered a 'Potentially Hazardous Asteroid.'
