Chandrayaan-3 Mission: Reaching for the Moon
On 14th July, 2023, the Launch Vehicle Mark - III (LVM3) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a successful lift-off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota, carrying the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft.
After it reaches the specific location, the lander will begin its soft landing on the surface of the South Pole region of the Moon.
Mission Objectives
- To demonstrate safe and soft landing on the lunar surface;
- To demonstrate rover roving on the moon; and
- To conduct in-situ scientific experiments.
