GSAT-30
- India’s telecommunication satellite GSAT-30 was launched from French Guiana via Ariane-5 VA-251 in January, 2020.
- It is configured on ISRO’s enhanced I-3K Bus structure to provide communication services from Geostationary Orbit in C and Ku bands. It has an operational life of 15 years, just like its predecessor INSAT-4A.
- GSAT-30 is to replace INSAT-4A (communication) satellite services with enhanced coverage.
- The satellite will provide Indian mainland and islands coverage in Ku-band and extended coverage in C-band covering Gulf countries, a large number of Asian countries and Australia.
