CARTOSAT-3
- India’s PSLV-C47 successfully launched Cartosat-3 and 13 commercial nano-satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota in November 2019.
- Cartosat-3 is a third-generation agile advanced satellite having high resolution imaging capability. It will replace IRS (Indian Remote Sensing) series satellites.
- It has a panchromatic resolution of 0.25 meters, which helps it conduct satellite imaging with the highest resolution.
- It is next in the series of earth observation satellites like HysIS, Cartosat-2 series etc.
- The other 13 satellites were from USA and were launched under commercial arrangement with New Space India Limited (NSIL), the second commercial arm of ISRO.
