Black Gold
- Scientists at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai have created a new material called ‘Black Gold’ with unique qualities like the capacity to absorb light and carbon di-oxide.
- It has been developed by rearranging the gaps and size of gold nanoparticles.
- To be specific, the scientists varied inter-particle distance between gold nanoparticles using a cycle-by-cycle growth approach by optimizing the nucleation-growth step, using dendritic fibrous nanosilica, whose fibers were then used as the deposition site for gold nanoparticles. ....
