Applications of Biotechnology in Agriculture

Agricultural biotechnology is the area of biotechnology that involves uses of biotechnology to agriculture. In 1970s, progression in the field of molecular biology enabled scientists to manipulate DNA, the chemical building blocks, that specify the characteristics of living organisms at the molecular level.
