Model Foster Care Guidelines (MFCG), 2024
On 20th August, 2024, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) updated the Model Foster Care Guidelines, bringing significant changes to foster care eligibility and procedures.
About the Guidelines
- These guidelines are based on various provisions as laid down in:
- Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 (amended in 2021),
- Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Model Rules, 2016 ( amended in 2022),
- Adoption Regulations, 2022 and
- Mission Vatsalya Scheme.
- These guidelines are in succession of the Model Foster Care Guidelines, 2016. The Government of India notified the Model Foster Care Guidelines, 2024 which contains details of procedures, roles ....
