Contemporary Issues Related to Planning in India
Planning is an organised and coordinated effort to achieve certain well defined objectives within a fixed time frame, through optimal utilisation of community resources, so as to promote its general well being. Post-independent India, which was largely an agricultural economy, adopted Soviet style planning system with Planning Commission as the leading institution entrusted with the role of plan formulation and execution.
