Denudation
The combined action of all of the processes that cause the wearing away and lowering of the land, includes weathering, mass wasting, and work of agents of erosion (running water, wind, glaciers, sea-waves and underground water) is known as denudation.
Factors Influencing the Weathering Processes
Types and rates of weathering vary, at both local and spatial region.
- Climate: High temperatures and greater rainfall increase the rate of chemical weathering. Rocks in tropical regions exposed to abundant rainfall and hot temperatures weather much faster than rocks residing in cold, dry and arid regions.
- Abundant salts, high humidity and contact with sea water make ....
