Hyades Cluster
- A recent study suggests the potential presence of several black holes in the Hyades cluster, the closest open star cluster to our solar system, making them the closest black holes to Earth ever identified.
- The Hyades cluster is located approximately 150 light-years from the Sun and was observed using data from the European Space Agency's Gaia satellite.
- Simulations indicated that two or three black holes might currently exist within the cluster, with even scenarios of all black holes being ejected less than 150 million years ago still aligning with the data.
