Mission Innovation
The Mission Innovation (MI) initiative, a global partnership between 22 nations and the European Commission (on behalf of the European Union), aims to encourage investment in R&D and demonstration projects to make renewable energy more widely available, appealing, and cheap.
- The 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in November 2015 saw the debut of Mission Innovation.
- The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) works closely with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), as well as other line ministries, to coordinate national efforts in renewable energy research and development.
