Genome Editing
Genome editing technologies allow for the modification of DNA, changing the risk of disease and physical characteristics like eye colour. To do this, scientists employ a variety of technologies. These tools cut the DNA at a precise location like scissors. The DNA that was cut can then be removed, added to, or replaced.
- The early 2000s saw the development of the first genome editing techniques.
- More recently, modifying DNA has become simpler than ever thanks to a new genome-editing technology called CRISPR, which was developed in 2009.
- CRISPR is simpler, faster, cheaper, and more accurate than older genome editing ....
