Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
CCUS includes methods for removing CO2 from flue gas and the atmosphere, then recycling it for use and figuring out secure long-term storage alternatives.
- Flue gases are created when any fuel, including coal, oil, natural gas, and wood, is burned in an industrial boiler, a power plant's steam-generating boiler, or another large combustion device.
- CO2 captured using CCU technologies is converted into fuel (such as methane and methanol), refrigerants, building materials, and other products.
- The agriculture industry, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and fire extinguisher industries all use captured gas directly.
