Concept of Employment

A person engaged in a job, is called an employed person. He/she may be engaged in agriculture or business or profession or service.

Structure of Employment:

It can be examined by dividing it as follows:

  1. Sectoral distribution of employment
  2. Employment in organised and unorganised sector
  3. Rural and urban employment

Remember This:

An economy is classified into primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector.


Organised & Unorganised Sectors

Organised Sector:

  • The unorganised sector in this country is quite large.
